24 Finale Reaction - The Final Beeps (Thanks Jack)

Last night was the series finale of 24. Jack spent his last hours as a man on a mission and the show wrapped up a remarkable, and groundbreaking run. Jack was always a symbol of justice (however flawed the means) and stayed true to his character throughout the show's run. Check out my reaction to the last moments of the real-time classic on CinemaBlend .

24 - 6AM - 8AM

I am going to to let you in on three quotes that basically sum up the 24 finale (and probably the season). "We don't have that much ACTUAL intelligence." "We can harvest everything we need from his blood." "I can make him talk." SPOILERS AHEAD This season of 24 has been pretty par for the course considering the show's history. 24 employs the "layers of onion" concept to its story arcs. Peel away one and realize that another layer sits there awaiting your attention. Nothing really new here. Each time a bad guy is caught, we find out it was another badder guy giving the actual instructions. That's just the way it goes in the 24 universe. Tonight, in the season finale, we do peel away the onion to find a man named Alan Wilson (Coach Yoast). When Jack is taken hostage we learn the terrorists plan on using his blood and organs to harvest the virus in his blood. This premise was comical at best. Hearing Tony and company talking abo...

24 - Answering all of the Big Questions

Two 24 junkies (Michael Pacchione and I) sit down and answer the really important questions leading into tomorrow's finale. Will Jack die? Does Elisha Cuthbert write her own lines? What was the biggest plot hole this season? Who was the best "that guy" appearance? All this and more! Continue reading this article at CinemaBlend television .

24 - Channelup saves the day again

My buddy Mike typically covers 24 for CinemaBlend, but I being the Jonathan Papelbon of that website, needed to step in tonight for the save. Read my recap and review at CinemaBlend .

24 - Dilemmas

An entertaining, yet weird, season winds down, but not without a few more ethical dilemmas to whet your controversial whistle. (spoilers ahead) Tony is holed up with this random Arab guy that I have seen in some movie but I just cant place. I don't love the bad Tony. I have trouble buying him as a villian. He's just done too many things to help America. Also, unfortunately for him and his crew Jack, Chloe and the FBI were able to track down the one guy in Washington Tony targeted to frame for the terrorist attack. And lets get a quick checklist of moral and ethical dilemmas covered this season (stars if they were covered in this episode as well): Torture: check Searches without warrants: check **** Citizen Privacy: check **** Racial profiling: check **** Government witnesses(immunity): check **** Religion: check **** Animal cruelty: not yet but we still have some time left That about sums up this season. I have thought, overall, 24 has been captivating but the constant r...

24 - Jack misses President Palmer. So do I

I'd be lying if I said I had my full attention on 24 tonight. I had the Red Sox game on simultaneously. The reason I'm not afraid to say that is because President Taylor runs such a wishy-washy Presidency that no one could ever be scared of anything under her administration. Her lack of leadership has led to a domestic terrorist group run amok. Jack lets Bad News Tim and President Incompetent know that Tony has the canister of nastiness. She can't believe it. How can she be surprised about anything anymore? If I were her, Jack could tell me Bigfoot just attacked the White House working under the direction of the Loch Ness monster and I wouldn't be shocked. President Taylor has been legitimately surprised with every single development throughout the day. This lack of forward thinking makes her a terrible President. That and she has cried multiple times in the last 24 hours. Would President David Palmer, God rest his soul, ever have cried in the face of distress? ...

24 - The move to the Big Apple

With the word that next year 24 heads to New York City I can’t help but think a few things. One, this is probably the best setting for a format like 24. Being in such close proximity to so many major landmarks and places of cultural reference should make the season visually impressive. 24 incorporated a number of different Washington, DC landmarks this season and worked them seamlessly into the story. But what really strikes me about this location announcement is what it means to us as Americans. Continue reading this story at cinemablend television .

24 - Get that canister!

This episode comes fresh off the news that next year Jack will spend a day in the Big Apple. Frankly I am amazed it took until this season to just get Jack out of LA. I wonder how much of not bringing Jack to NYC until now was spurred by September 11th and the images it conjures. At the same time, 24's popularity is aided by the terrorist alert level we have been on since 9/11. I think we are sufficiently removed from September 11th that having a terrorist plot to further destroy New York is something 24 can explore well. This season has benefited from being in a new city and I suspect next year the plot will use the city that never sleeps in new and creative ways. I am looking forward to it and will write a more detailed piece on this before the end of the week. Well Jonas Hodges is in jail. Jack has the boogey woogey flu (from a bio-terrorist weapon). Agent Moss is dead. And Tony is a bad guy again. Jonas Hodges was a man with a plan. Now he is just a man who is asked ...
